Queenstown is the ‘Hub” for anyone wanting to see the South Island of New Zealand. From here you can make day trips to any and all of the South Island hot spots and natural wonders. The must do activity of going on a boat trip to Milford Sound is based here in Queenstown, or of course you can do the sightseeing by plane or helicopter. Day trips to the Catlins to see Seals and Dolphins, depart from Queenstown. For a trip to see the Glaciers on the West Coast at Fox Glacier or Franz Josef you leave from here.
